About the Role

The role of IT Solutions Associate (Database Developer) is critical to supporting WFP’s work in Pakistan, particularly under the Benazir Nashonuma Programme (BNP). The BNP focuses on improving nutrition outcomes for vulnerable populations, and your work will enable seamless data management, reporting, and decision-making.

As a Database Developer, you will design and optimize complex database solutions, integrate systems, and enhance data security to support BNP’s operations. You will work closely with WFP’s teams and external partners, ensuring efficient and secure data exchange while contributing to organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities

As an IT Solutions Associate, your day-to-day responsibilities will involve technical expertise and collaboration. Your role will include, but not be limited to, the following:

1) Database Design and Management

• Design and implement advanced database models aligned with business needs.
• Create and manage schema objects, including tables, indexes, and views, in Oracle Exadata environments.
• Develop partitioning strategies to handle large datasets efficiently.

2) SQL Optimization and Programming

• Analyze and optimize SQL queries to improve system performance.
• Develop PL/SQL code, stored procedures, triggers, and functions.
• Implement and manage ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes for data migration.

3) Integration and Data Exchange

• Design and maintain data replication and synchronization processes across systems as a IT Solutions Associate.
• Ensure minimal downtime during data migration and system integration.
• Facilitate data exchange with internal and external stakeholders to support decision-making.

4) Dashboard Development

• Develop professional dashboards to visualize data and improve decision-making.
• Optimize dashboard performance and infrastructure for seamless functionality.

5) Collaboration and Support

• Provide technical support to team members and collaborate to achieve development goals.
• Mentor and train team members on effective data utilization.
• Respond to queries related to database systems and software applications as a IT Solutions Associate.

6) Security and Documentation

• Implement databases with integrated security features to safeguard sensitive data.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation for existing and new systems, ensuring alignment with organizational guidelines be a IT Solutions Associate.
• Support audit-related activities by providing technical evidence and reports.

7) Additional Responsibilities

• Assist in payment-related processes and integration with financial institutions.
• Support WFP’s Nutrition and Project Management Unit (PMU) teams with report generation and capacity building as be a IT Solutions Associate.
• Perform other tasks as assigned to foster a collaborative and efficient work environment.

Qualifications and Requirements

To succeed in this role, you’ll need a mix of education, experience, and technical skills:

1) Education

• A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field from a recognized university.
• Preference will be given to candidates from top-ranked institutions, especially those approved by HEC (Higher Education Commission).

2) Experience

• At least 6 years of experience in database and software development at an enterprise level.
• Proven expertise in designing database structures for large-scale systems.
• Experience in legacy code enhancement and systems lifecycle development methodologies.

3) Technical Skills

• Proficiency in MySQL, Oracle, PL/SQL, and optimization techniques.
• Hands-on experience with ETL processes, data migration, and Oracle GoldenGate.
• Strong skills in .NET Framework, PHP, and dashboard development.
• Familiarity with encryption practices and information security protocols.
• Experience in developing native Android applications (preferred) and mobile GIS development (a plus).

4) Soft Skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent documentation and presentation skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

5) Language Proficiency

• Fluency in English and Urdu (oral and written communication).
