Job Scale/ Grade:  Up to M6 (Senior Officer)

Min. Experience Required:  Minimum 02 (Two) years of relevant professional experience. Preference will be given to candidates having done articleship.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure completeness and correctness of closing adjusting entries in Oracle financial.
  • Maintenance of records as per regulatory and bank’s requirements.
  • Posting of any adjusting or periodical adjusting entries.
  • Ensure proper accounting, taxation, reconciliations and other accounting matters in day-to-day operations of the bank.
  • Exhibit knowledge of insurance accounting and relevant I.F.R.S., etc.
  • Development and implementation of systems for proper accounting.
  • Manage the bank’s financial accounting, monitoring, and reporting systems.
  • Preparation of Annual Budget at bank and segment level.
  • Coordination with all Business Segments for Budget estimates.
  • Prepare variance analysis on monthly, quarterly, half yearly and annual basis.
  • Prepare information for the Statutory reporting to the State Bank of Pakistan and ensure that all returns are submitted in timely manner.
  • Liaise with other departments for statutory disclosures as required by SBP and prepare information desired by various departments.
  • Assist in the day-to-day accounting/reporting function.
  • Executing any other duties as and when required by the line management.

 

Core Competencies

  • Excellent knowledge of accounting standards, reporting frameworks, tax laws, regulatory and statutory requirements.
  • Prior Knowledge of State Bank regulatory reporting shall be an added advantage.
  • Excellent exposure of working of ERP Oracles.
  • Well versed in Islamic finance, insurance structures, reporting regulations (A.A.O.I.F.I. standards), accounting treatment of insurance operations.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementation of Accounting Manual, Financial Reporting Manual & Financial Controls and related procedures.
  • Excellent analytical skills; experience in developing high quality financial models.
  • Good computer literacy and inclination towards automation.
  • Excellent team player. Able to take up challenges.
  • Good written and oral communication skills both in English and Urdu.

 

Qualification

Minimum of Master’s degree in accounting and finance, (C.A. inter, A.C.C.A. qualified, C.F.A., C.I.M.A. or equivalent) or other relevant fields from a leading local or international university recognized by the Higher Education Commission (H.E.C.) of Pakistan.
